ATV12HU15M3

is a compact 1.5 kW (2 HP) variable speed drive from the Schneider Electric Altivar 12 series. It is a more powerful version of the 0.75 kW model we discussed, designed for 3-phase asynchronous motors with a 200V to 240V AC supply.

The ATV12HU15M3 functions as a simplified, high-reliability controller for 3-phase motors up to 1.5 kW (2 HP). Unlike the high-performance ATV340 series, the ATV12 is designed for simple machine applications where space and ease of use are the priorities.

1. Motor Speed & Torque Control

Plug-and-Play Setup: It functions straight out of the box for most basic applications without complex tuning.
Sensorless Flux Vector Control: Even without an encoder, it functions to provide high torque at low speeds, ensuring smooth starts for small conveyors or mixers.

2. Specialized Machine Functions

PID Regulator: It includes a built-in PID function specifically for pumping and ventilation. You can connect a pressure sensor directly to the drive, and it will automatically adjust the motor speed to maintain a constant pressure.
Preset Speeds: Allows you to program up to 8 preset speeds, which can be triggered by simple digital switches (e.g., "Slow" for loading, "Fast" for running).
Catch-on-the-Fly: If a fan is already spinning due to wind, the drive functions to "catch" the motor at its current speed rather than forcing it to stop first, preventing mechanical stress.
