The FRN0024C2S-4SL1 functions as a high-power Solar Pump Controller for 11 kW (15 HP) motors. It is the "brain" of a solar pumping system, specifically designed to run large motors without a battery or electrical grid by using the direct DC power from solar panels.
Primary Solar Functions
Intelligent MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking): This is the drive's most important job. Because sunlight changes throughout the day, the MPPT function continuously adjusts the pump's speed to match the available energy. This ensures you get water flow even during early mornings or slightly cloudy weather.
Fully Autonomous Operation: The drive is "set and forget." It automatically "wakes up" and starts the pump when it detects enough sunlight and safely shuts it down at sunset.
"Deliverance" Startup Logic: Before the motor actually starts spinning, the drive performs a check to see if the solar panels have enough sustained power. This prevents the pump from "hunting" (constantly starting and stopping) which can wear out 15 HP motor bearings.
Pump & Safety Management
Dry Run Protection: If your borewell or water source runs dry, the motor's torque will drop. The drive senses this change and stops the pump immediately to prevent the mechanical seals and motor from burning out.
Water Hammer Prevention: It uses a controlled "Soft Start" and "Soft Stop" to slowly ramp the motor speed. This prevents sudden pressure surges (water hammer) that can burst pipes in large 15 HP irrigation systems.
Tank Level Control: You can wire float switches directly to the drive. It will stop the pump when the storage tank is full and restart it automatically when the level drops.
Technical Performance
High Starting Torque: It provides up to 200% torque at very low speeds. This is crucial for 15 HP submersible pumps that must push a heavy column of water up from a deep borehole.
Dual Power Input: While optimized for solar (up to 800V DC), it also accepts standard 3-phase AC power. This allows you to use a generator or grid power at night if there is an emergency need for water.
