The Panasonic MEDLN83SE (A6SE series) is a 2.5 kW "E-Frame" AC servo driver designed for high-power
Position Control applications. As part of the "Basic" A6SE lineup, it is optimized for high-speed performance using pulse-train commands while maintaining a streamlined feature set. [

The primary function of the Panasonic MEDLN83SE is to serve as a high-power positioning actuator for 2.0kW to 2.5kW motors. It is a "Position-Only" specialist designed to follow pulse commands from a PLC with extreme speed and reliability.
1. Dedicated Position Control (Pulse Train)
The "SE" series is functionally streamlined for Pulse Train Input.
- The Follower: Its main job is to listen to high-speed pulses sent by a motion controller or PLC. For every pulse it receives, it moves the motor one precise increment.
- Simplicity: By removing complex network protocols or analog speed modes, it provides a more stable and cost-effective solution for standard point-to-point positioning.
2. High-Power Electrical Conversion
It functions as the heavy-duty power stage for large motors.
- It takes standard 3-phase industrial power and converts it into the precise, high-current electrical waves needed to drive 2.5kW motors, which often move several hundred kilograms of machinery.
3. Real-Time Dynamic Correction
The driver acts as an "active stabilizer" for heavy loads:
- 3.2 kHz Velocity Response: It calculates the motor's position 3,200 times per second. If a heavy load causes the motor to lag or "overshoot," the driver instantly corrects the power output to keep it perfectly on track.
- Inertia Adaptation: E-Frame motors move heavy mass. The MEDLN83SE automatically senses the weight of the load and adjusts its internal "stiffness" (gain) so the machine doesn't shake or vibrate when it starts or stops.
4. Mechanical Protection (Resonance Suppression)
At 2.5kW, mechanical vibration can be destructive. The driver functions as a digital shock absorber:
- Adaptive Notch Filters: It identifies the specific "hum" or vibration frequency of your machine frame and electronically cancels it out. This allows you to run the machine at much higher speeds than would otherwise be possible without mechanical damage.
5. High-Resolution Feedback Processing
- It serves as the interface for the motor's 23-bit encoder. It processes the 8.38 million pulses coming from the motor every turn and ensures the controller knows the exact location of the machine at all times.
